I thought you might want to pinpoint exactly where I am. This helpful sign post is at the Truk Stop Hotel were I am staying.
I am in Chuuk, Micronesia addressing several hundred pastors, educators and governmental leaders on the theme of Faith. They are contemplative people who absorb truth deeper than the mind, they allow it to grip their hearts—a refreshing experience. Right: A small portion of the several hundred attending the conference that is sponsored by the evangelical churches.
I spoke twice each morning. Between session the leaders would break up into small discussion groups to expand how to apply the truths to their lives and ministries.
A large part of the messages and discussions were focused on how to trust God in such a way that he would be pleased to raise up Faithwalk Christian College. I have been clear that neither I nor they have the resources but God does. I have no doubt that God desires a college that combines a genuine walk of faith with academic excellence amid the Chuukese people. It’s a matter of meeting God on God’s terms, then watching him perform the impossible.
Below: Yosta Lodge, director of Faithwalk Christian College stands by the lagoon crying out to God to raise up widespread support for this great effort.

God has placed it on the heart of Mr. Greg Martin to help the college by donating his incredible skin cream to be sold with the money going to the college. The islanders have fallen in love with it, claiming it has healed many irritations as well as provided lasting moisture in the hot, tropical sun. You can check it out at www.thehoneyfactor.com. Right: A young Chuukese shows here delight to have the cream.
As the sun sets over the island of Tol, the believers pray for the rising of God’s favor upon Faithwalk Bible College. Below: Tol is the mountain on the left.

What ever happened to Chuuk? Last summer you graciously got involved through prayer and giving to send me to Chuuk to meet with evangelical pastors who wanted to start a college.
I need your prayers. Here’s what is happening:
1) The Faithwalk Christian College opened it’s doors last fall. It was a leap of faith and the early stages have not been easy. What they lack in resources they are making up for in determination.
2) They have invited me to address a conference twice each morning primarily on the theme of believing God.
3) The entire government has been invited to the opening session. I’m told that the governor will attend.
4) I’ve learned that some schools will be closed so that both teachers and students can attend the conference.
I am indebted to you for responding to God’s touch to help me last summer. I just want you to know that the story is still developing. I’ll do my best to keep you updated as the coming week unfolds.
God be with you and thank you for praying and caring for the island people of Chuuk.

First I want to thank again all who sponsored my investigation trip to Chuuk, as well as all who prayed.
Here are my findings:
1) Chuuk clearly needs its own college. It will do the following: a) Provide a state-of-the-art education for the Chuukese and many others throughout the Pacific. b) It will raise the public image of Chuuk, heretofore an underrated state. c) It will add to the economy of this financially strapped state. d) It will provide a Christian flow into every arena of life: pastors, political leaders, teachers, missionaries and much more. e) In light of a proposed pre-med program, it will improve the health of the state.

2) The board is willing to expand to a liberal arts college, keeping the Bible as the foundation of the curriculum. Thus, they have adopted the name Faithwalk Christian College.
3) The board agreed to move the college to the main island for easy access to the airport among other benefits. Below is a picture of the island of Tol where the college is currently located. It is the far island behind the large boat. It is fourteen miles from the main island and is not accessible during bad weather. |

To your right is a picture of a property on the main island of Weno that would be perfect for the college. It may be available for the college to purchase. It has a breathtaking panoramic view of the lagoon and has full access to everything the college would need, including the airport.

The ECC pastors have drafted a resolution asking me to serve as president. I will be speaking with the Antrim Brethren in Christ board where I serve as interim pastor, the board of SEA and many other confidants to determine what role I am or am not to play. One overriding issue is that any involvement cannot detract from the commitments I have already made. Further, I need to discover what resources in people, technology and finances the Lord has arranged for us.
To your right is Yosta Lodge. He holds a masters degree from Columbia (SC) University and serves as director of the college. He is sitting below the new, possible campus contemplating what such a college could mean for that entire region of the Pacific. He joins me in asking you to seek the Lord with us for clear guidance regarding my role as well as the future for Chuuk. Part of the urgency is that a major false cult considers the islands so important that they have committed incredible resources to sway the islanders. This adds to the many reasons why this college is a must for the advancement of truth.

Again, thank you for helping me with resources and prayers to make this trip possible. God birthed both vision and hope in the hearts of everyone.
I’ll inform you of the results of my decision in the next two to three months. In the mean time, I hope you’ll pray for these dear islanders. They are absolutely wonderful people whom God loves with all his heart.
Immanuel: God is with you.
