I landed in Chuuk on Wednesday. I was amazed at the airport greeting. The entire Evangelical Churches of Chuuk (ECC) board, many church people and some political leaders I worked with throughout the past decade. Below is a map to orient you.

Beside I’m standing beside Makut William, president of the ECC. Great honor, respect and warm friendship was extended as evidenced by the items you see me wearing. These were placed on me at the airport. To the westerner eye it appears strange, but here in the Pacific it is a deep expression of acceptance into their culture.

Here I am standing with Yosta Lodge, the director of the college.

From the airport we went to a welcome ceremony. To the left, Mokut William is giving me an official welcome to the islands. Mike Corforte, a friend of our ministry, embroidered the new name of the college (Faithwalk Bible College) plus the name of each board member on polo shirts as gifts. Makut is already wearing his. Mike, this was fantastic. They loved the shirts.

Next I unpacked in my room at the Truck Stop Hotel.

Still tired from jet lag I was rushed to the first session with the board. We had three lengthy sessions on Wednesday and Thursday. We had to cancel Friday’s session due to the funeral of a major figure.

Tommorrow I will preach at Berea Church. Monday, Lord and weather permitting, I’ll be taken across the lagoon to the college campus. I hope to send you some pictures of that.

A major story is unfolding that I hope to relay to you in the days to come.

Final picture . . . you guessed it . . . another one of those fabulous Chuuk sunsets. I took the picture several years ago and it is not touched up. It’s just the way God made it.

Thank you for your prayers. I need lots of wisdom. You’ll understand why when I get the chance to tell you the whole story. Let me give you one small insight: Once again, God is placing the entire civilization before for me to minister the gospel.
